Shawna Vasilko is a dedicated family law attorney serving clients throughout Wake and surrounding counties. With over two decades of legal experience, Shawna began her career as a paralegal in Memphis, Tennessee in 2003, focusing on criminal defense before expanding her work in North Carolina to include personal injury and bankruptcy law.

She holds an associate degree in Criminal Justice from Vance-Granville Community College, a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from UNC Pembroke, a Juris Doctor from Campbell University’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, and an LL.M. from Nottingham Trent University, where her dissertation explored restorative justice as a quasi-victim’s right.

Shawna became a junior partner at Dobson Law Firm, handling a wide range of matters from simple divorces to complex equitable distribution cases. She is also admitted to the Eastern and Western Districts of North Carolina.

While in law school, Shawna gained extensive practical experience through internships with several North Carolina law firms and organizations, including the Administrative Office of the Courts and Legal Aid of North Carolina, and she participated in Baylor Law’s renowned Academy of the Advocate in St. Andrews, Scotland.

Outside the courtroom, Shawna is deeply rooted in her community. She lives in Wake Forest with her husband, their three children, and a house full of beloved pets.

  Born and raised in Kenbridge, Virginia, Bryant combines small-town roots with a modern approach to law. 
  He earned his BA in Political Science from the College of Charleston, JD from Campell University School of Law, and LLM from Nottingham Trent University in the U.K.
  His practice focuses on guiding clients through life's major turning points - from crafting thoughtful estate plans and guiding small business owners to navigating adoptions, name changes, and family planning with care. 
  Bryant lives in Wake Forest with his husband and two dogs, loves to snow ski, and is a lifelong Stevie Nicks superfan. 
  Bryant firmly believes that everyone deserves an advocate and a plan that reflects their values, and he welcomes new clients who want to take that next step.  

Marissa was born in Four Oaks, North Carolina and has lived in North Carolina her entire life. Marissa graduated in 2014 from Fayetteville State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Marissa plans to pursue her masters in the coming months. 

Jason currently works at Vasilko & Pedersen as the Client Specialist. Marissa is the first person you will see or speak to when calling the firm. Her outgoing and sunny personality makes her presence at the firm a welcome comfort to many of the clients involved in litigation.

Marissa is passionate about sports. She loves cheering on the Panthers, even in rough seasons. She has recently started to enjoy playing flag football and attending various sporting events. Marissa loves to read and spend time with her family.
